What Will Your First Office Visit Be Like?

Melissa's Office
Going to your first therapy appointment can stir up a lot of different feelings. Even if you have been in therapy before, starting fresh with a new therapist can bring up lots of questions, anxieties and take some just getting use to.
Your First Session:
Your first session may be uncomfortable or just a new experience, it is hard to come to a complete stranger and tell them about your problems or concerns. The session will focus on understanding what brings you to therapy, what are your concerns/struggles and what type of goals you see yourself working on in therapy. You will be given time to ask me questions about my practice and experience and any other questions you may have. Towards the end of your session you will be asked how you felt about the process and if you have any other thoughts or questions.
