My office is located in the heart of Old Town Pasadena on Tongva Land in the building once famously known as the Hotel Carver, it is two blocks South of Colorado Blvd. and is easily accessible via public transit and close to both the 210 and 110 freeways. I am located conveniently close to Altadena, South Pasadena, Eagle Rock and the greater Los Angeles communities on the North East side of L.A.
Parking:
Free 90 minute parking is available at the Schoolhouse Parking Structure located on Fair Oaks and Green Street. The structure is approximately one short block North of the office building. Metered parking is available directly in front of the building and on the side street called Dayton.
Getting into the building:
If your appointment is from M-F between 9am and 5pm the front doors will be open. However once you reach the elevator you will need to use the call box at the elevator and use the A to Z button to scroll through the names, once you have located my name enter the code you see and the elevator will be sent to you. If your appointment is on the weekend or after hours you will need to use the call box outside and use the # button to scroll through the directory, once you have located my name enter the code you see and the door will be buzzed open. Once at the elevator use the A to Z button to scroll through the names, once you have located my name enter the code you see and the elevator will be sent to you.
Accessibility:
Elevator: The building has an elevator to access the basement, second and third floors, a stairway is available for those with phobia/anxiety around using the elevator however please let Melissa know before hand so that she can unlock the staircase for you (it is locked at the first floor/entrance).
Seating: Melissa's office has a love seat style sofa for seating for clients, for clients who are fat/large, the love seat provides comfortable sturdy seating without worry about armrests. For folx who have back injuries there are pillows to use for back support.
Office space: For fox with wheelchairs or mobility devices, the office is small but able to accommodate a wheelchair and other mobility devices.
Scents: The office is mostly scent free, however for spiritual practices sprays for spiritual cleansing are used at times, the scent is light and does not remain long in the air.
Entrance: The front door does not have an electric option for opening, it can be difficult for fox with wheelchairs and/or other mobility devices. The front door opens forward.
Restrooms: Single stall restrooms are available on the second and third floors. The first floor restroom has two stalls in each restroom however this restroom is usually locked and reserved for the businesses on the first floor. At this time All Gender restrooms are not available.
*If you have an emotional support dog or a dog that is well behaved and potty trained your dog is welcomed in my office during therapy sessions.*
